Smile Makeovers

If you want to make the biggest change to your smile, cosmetic dentistry might be the way to do it. Smile makeovers re-design the way your teeth look and occasionally where they are positioned your mouth.

Smile Design

The process of assessing your current smile and identifying how and where to make the changes needed, so that you can feel more confident in the way you look.

Minimally invasive cosmetic treatments can have a huge impact on the way your smile looks, but also protects and respects the underlying natural tooth structure.

What do you want to achieve?

An initial consultation is the starting point. You can discuss what you would like to achieve or any issues that might be bothering you. Photos can be a great help and identify the look you’re aiming for. Initial consultations are accompanied by a general inspection of your mouth to check for any obvious dental issues or diseases that may need to be managed either before, or during a course of aesthetic therapy. Once we know what you’re after, the in-depth, individualised treatment planning can begin.

Treatment Planning

The first stage of any treatment plan is to make a full assessment of your mouth. This includes records, x-rays, models and photographs. With this information, a comprehensive plan that identifies your options and attempts to risk-assess any proposed treatments is provided to you.

Smile design begins at this stage. Photographs and video footage are collected so that we can assess your current smile and then plan your ideal result digitally or in the laboratory. At the following appointment, we can ‘try-in’ your new smile to show you what your end result could look like. This helps you to visualise what your teeth could look like and ensures that we can highlight any challenges that need to be overcome.

Smile Makeover Treatments

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening or teeth bleaching is a well recognised and safe procedure if done correctly and using medically approved products. Just undertaking a course of whitening can improve the appearance of your teeth to give a fresher and brighter look.

Moving Teeth

Moving teeth reduces the need to damage a natural tooth to get the best appearance and can be the most ethical treatment in some cases. Orthodontics is a predictable way to move teeth and can be considered at any age. Orthodontics alone or in combination with the above treatments can make all the difference when it comes to getting you the best results.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Symmetry is one of the most important factors in cosmetic dentistry and changing the shape of teeth towards the golden proportions can dramatically improve aesthetics. Veneers, composite bonding and crowns can all play a roll when designing your new smile.

Moving Gums

Sometimes patients have gums that cover too much of their teeth, or their teeth have worn and the gum takes up too much of their smile. Surgery to change the shape of the gum can make a big difference when it comes to re-balancing the amount of tooth versus gum seen when smiling. This may seem a little daunting, but is often less intimidating than it sounds.
